About Us
Founded in 1955, the Chicopee St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee has proudly represented the City of Chicopee in the Holyoke St. Patrick’s Parade for nearly seven decades. As one of the longest-standing parade committees in the region, we are driven by a deep respect for Irish heritage, a passion for community pride, and a commitment to keeping local traditions alive.
Each year, our all-volunteer committee works tirelessly to organize events, raise funds, and honor individuals who exemplify the spirit and values of our city. Our annual awards include:
Marshal – Recognizing a distinguished individual to lead Chicopee’s contingent in the parade
Colleen and Court – Celebrating local young women who represent grace, pride, and Irish spirit
Parade Award – Honoring outstanding contributions to the success of our parade presence
Woods Award – Recognizing excellence in community service and dedication to the committee
O’Connell Award – Celebrating individuals who have made a lasting impact through public service or leadership
In addition to coordinating Chicopee’s participation in the Holyoke Parade, the committee hosts a variety of events throughout the year, including the Colleen Pageant, fundraising socials, and community gatherings that bring people together in celebration.
The Chicopee St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee is more than just a planning group—it’s a proud tradition powered by volunteers, rooted in heritage, and united by the belief that community spirit is something worth celebrating.
